Since this effort at autobiography - what airs we give ourselves as we approach the other side! - is ostensibly for my kids I will post pics here and there as I have any.  I was never much of a one for taking photos.  They certainly won't be endless.

These are from my days with the U.S.N.: 14 August 1961 - early September 1964.
Here I am just out of boot camp; 17 and uncertain.

And a couple of years later; I can tell I was on the Ti by the E on my sleeve.

Left is how we spent most of our time.  This is a bar in Olangapo, the P.I.  Though I remember the faces the names escape.  One of the guys is wearing a jarhead's hat; maybe he took the pic.  The kid on his left is Joel Sexton.
I am standing in back nearest the fan.  I frequently didn't have a girl with me because I just hated the system of buying drinks that kept the girl with you.  I didn't mind paying for value received, but conversation wasn't it.

Left is a restaurant in Manila.  The guy in front of me is Joe Varner.  There were a couple of the jarheads that weren't totally insane that we hung around with ashore.
Below is Phoebe, Peter Bell White, a nerd before they were identified as another species..  A special buddy of mine.  Below is Phoebe and another guy, Andy.  Both pics are in Kyoto.
This is me in front of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo.  I am being very cool.  This is probably 1964 and I am 20.  (We have to wonder if we were ever truly that young.)
Andy thought he was the best looking guy going, but he was essentially good-hearted.
