As Dave Potts says, "This ain't your daddy's J.D. Wallace."  In fact, I will let him say the rest, too.  (He is quoted entirely without permission.)

"I spied this Wallace bandsaw over on eBay and thought I'd pass it on and let you take a gander at it too.  My Wallace was all cast iron, but it was on the rough, almost-crude side in terms of finish and style.  This Ohio-located saw seems quite *cultured* and even includes a cast iron rear wheel cover......and snowflake cutouts, to boot!  This would be a Wallace to own!  I'd perhaps consider hitching up the team to fetch it....but I guess that's just trying to repurchase my youth....and at 45....that's stoopid.

Dave

So, we have peeked into the heart of Dave, and now another saw of this vintage shows up.  A fellow named Mark in Los Angeles has just purchased one.  When it rains it......  I will put up the pics from the eBay ad here so you can see what all the furor is over.  don e.
So, we have the nearly-extinct 'snowflake Wallace' with a real table and a built-in lite.  Oooh, la, la!!!

Except now a third one has shown up, in Florida.  You will note that all these pics are not of the same machine.  The nasty, brutish and rusty machine, William, belongs to Mark Chadwick and he will soon be sprucing it up - we trust.  He sent me some pics that complement the views from the eBay pics.

Seated in the very front of the class, within spittin' distance of Mr. England, that nasty little Davey Potts bounces wildly in his seat like he has beans in his pants and waves his dirty little hand madly over his head.  He is shouting:  "Choose me!!  Choooooose meeeeee!!!"

So, we do, and he gives us a pic of yet another Wallace.  Solid top door and real table.  One begins to wonder 'when will it all end?.

Perhaps it is simply one of those things that goes on and on.  There had been talk of his moving to Pennsylvania and entering a new school.....  They say he has pull with one of the bio teachers. It is rumored a young woman in that department refers to him rather affectionaely as 'turtle boy'.
